Pennine Refrigeration Services, recognised for its expertise in advanced refrigeration solutions, partnered with Staxon Mechanical & Electrical Services to design, install, and commission six state-of-the-art Softripe® ripening rooms.

Building on the success of previous installations, this expansion project was driven by the growing demand for avocados from a leading UK supermarket. Delivered to a strict schedule, the project utilised cutting-edge technology to increase capacity, enhance fruit quality, and improve operational efficiency.

Worldwide Fruit Ltd is a prominent UK fruit marketing and distribution company, specialising in apples, pears, and avocados. Sourcing from more than 1,000 growers worldwide, they supply major UK supermarkets with an unwavering focus on quality, freshness, and sustainability.

Following from the sucess of a previous Softripe project, Worldwide Fruit demands from a leading UK supermarket increased due to the continued supply of quality uniformed ripening with extend shelf life. Along with the continued environmental aspect of significant waste reduction being one of the key drivers, the challenge was to meet the demanding timescales and customer expectations.
